This is the pattern I use when knitting a swiffer cover. I use cotton yarns such as Peaches and Cream. The cotton is super absorbent, and soft.The more you use it the softer it becomes. The cover is durable and long-lasting--you will probably replace it just to get a new look before you are forced to replace it due to wear and tear! I also keep on hand a cover made up on acrylic yarn such as Red Heart. I use that cover when I have need to scrub up ground in or heavily built up debris ( such as the floor around the dog food bowl, we get a build up on the the floor under the bowl of "dog food dust"). It scrubs up quickly then I switch covers and just mop up the liquid. =) Materials: peaches & cream cotton
Size 7 knitting needles.
Directions:
Cast on 21 stitches.
Row1: knit across.
Row2: K1,* sl 1 wyib, k1; repeat from * across.
Row3: knit across.
Row4: K2, * sl 1 wyib, k1; repeat from* end k1.
Repeat rows 1-4 for pattern till strip measures about 13” fold ends over 2” sew edges.
Limping Kitty's Crochet Pattern
Materials:
Peaches & cream cotton, Size G Hook
CH16
Row 1: Hdc in third ch from st. and in each st across.
Rows 2-9: Ch2, hdc. in each st. across.
Row 10: Working in front loop only * ch3, sl st in next st, sc in next stitch. Repeat from * across.
Row 11: Turn, working in what is now the front loop of the previous row, ch2 hdc in each st across.
Row 12: ch 3 working in front loop sc in first st. * ch3 sl st in next st sc in next st. repeat from * across ending with sl st in last st.
Row 13: repeat row 11.
Repeat rows 10 through 13 till you have 16 rows of ch3 loops.
Rows 14-22 repeat row 11, 9 times finish off.
Fold over each end about 2 inches. Sew sides together.
The loop side is for dusting while the flat side is great for moping
